Morihei Ueshiba
The founder of Aikido. He was born on December 14th, 1883 in the city of Tanabe, Wakayama Prefecture, and comes from a family of low samurai. He died on April 26th, 1969. Shortly before his death, he gave his students one last piece of guidance: “Aikido is there for the whole world. It is not to be used for selfish and destructive purposes. Keep on training tirelessly for the good of all.”

Nobuyoshi Tamura
Nobuyoshi Tamura was born on March 2nd, 1933 in Osaka. He started practicing martial arts at a very young age and soon became one of the favourite students of Morihei Ueshiba. Since 1964, Tamura has dedicated his life to promoting Aikdio in France and Europe. He was the Aikikai for Europe. He had been practicing Aikido for 50 years and still actively trained up until his death, striving for perfection.
Master Tamura carried the 8th Dan of Aikikai. The Dojo, who follow the line of Tamura, have 60,000 registered members.
Master Tamura passed away on July 9th, 2010.
